Photo Gallery | Girls on the Run 5k reaches new record
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of girls across the area are about to run in a 5K for Girls on the Run.
Girls on the Run is a national non-profit organization that helps inspire young women and gives them confidence through running.
The Girls on the Run group from Mary C. Williams Elementary school ran from their campus to Earthbound Salon off Carolina Beach Road as a practice-run. At the end of their run, they were treated to a manicure at Earthbound.
The girls said they loved running and feeling pretty. They invited Michelle Li to run along with them as well.
The Girls on the Run of Coastal Carolina will hold a 5k December 7th. The organization reached a new record with 1229 participants.
