WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hammerheads fans may have noticed a spelling mistake on their ticket to Wednesday’s game.
On the tickets, Pittsburgh was missing the letter ‘h’.
It’s one of the most misspelled cities in America, due to that rogue letter on the end. There are around 20 other cities of the same name that don’t use the ‘h’ at the end.
The Hammerheads played the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Wednesday night.
Jaimee Stewart, @jmeeElizabeth, tweeted a photo of the ticket.
Her tweet stated, “@HuntGilstrap can you teach Wilmington how to spell Pittsburgh?! #notpittsburg”
Adding insult to the typo, the Hammerheads beat the Riverhounds 4-1 at Legion Stadium.
Coincidentally, the Hammerheads do have Pittsburgh spelled correctly on their website.
