WPD accepting applications for upcoming basketball season | Sports & Recreation

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department's Police Athletic League is accepting registration applications for their 10-year-old to 12-year-old basketball season, which starts Monday, according to a news release.

This is the league's seventh season as a community resource to fight gang activity. The program is operating out of both the Community Boys & Girls Club and the Brigade Boys & Girls Club in order to reach kids on both sides of the town.

Practice begins Monday, Jan. 7 and games begin Monday, Jan. 28.

There isn't a fee for participants. However, there may be a one-time $10 fee at registration to cover facility use and maintenance at the Boys & Girls Club.
