WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Award winning actress Linda Lavin donated her art collection to the Cameron Art Museum. She is selling her Wilmington home to move to New York.
Lavin has lived in Wilmington for 17 years, she says the community means a lot to her, as does the art museum, so donating her collection seemed like the right thing to do. She says she loves that others will be able to see it, and enjoy the pieces.
"I love this collection, it's a personal history of us and it's nice to give a gift while you are still alive and not in a will or estate," said Lavin.
The collection includes a variety of pieces, including some portraits that her husband Steve Bakunas made of her. It will be on display until December.
Lavin says she is keeping her home in Castle Hayne, and will be back to visit a lot.
