Semi-finalists for prestigious scholarship announced | Education

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County schools announced Wednesday the list of semi-finalists for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship.

This program is one of the most prestigious university scholarship programs and includes four years paid tuition at UNC-Chapel Hill, a laptop computer and a four-year summer enrichment program.

Recipients are chosen by merit and accomplishments based on: leadership, academic achievement, moral force of character and physical vigor.

The scholarship nominees are:

Alexis Shiro
Aiwei Yan

Isaac Bear Early College High School
Megan Chang

Laney High School
Kevin Bell
Michael Rhine
