WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Ten of New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s chaplain residents celebrated graduating on Friday morning, according to the news release.
The chaplains, who all have various religious denominations, completed year-long residency training in the hospital’s Clinical Pastoral Education program. There, they were taught how to give pastoral care in hospital settings.
This is the first time NHRMC and Cape Fear Memorial Hospital will have ten chaplains available.
Last August, the chaplains began giving spiritual and emotion care to patients, families and staff at the 17th Street and Cape Fear Hospital campuses.
