WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Police are looking for two people who they said cut a man’s face and then stole his cash.
Alfonzo Vargas from Whiteville told police he was visiting friends on Marion Drive in Wilmington. It was there that he said he was attacked by two men who cut his face and stole $305 in cash. It happened Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m.
Vargas approached police, but he could not speak English. So police relied on a nurse at New Hanover Regional Medical Center to translate.
He told police the suspects left the scene in a dark colored Honda. He wasn’t able to describe the attackers any further.
The Wilmington Police Department is asking anyone with information to call them at 910-343-3600. You can also anonymously submit information via text message by entering Tip708 and the information in the body of the message and sending it to 274637.
