Police looking for men who beat up, robbed Wilmington man | Crime

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department is looking for the people who assaulted and robbed a Wilmington man early Saturday morning. It happened in the 2600 block of Constitution Blvd.

Police said they found Ahmed Ali lying on the ground after he told police he was beaten up and robbed. According to police, Ali told officers he arrived home from work and parked his moped.

 He then told officers two heavyset men were waiting in the entry way to his apartment building. Once Ali walked inside, he said he was attacked by the two men who were hiding behind a door.

Ali said he attempted to run, but he was chased outside where the suspects continued to beat him up while he was down. Ali told police the men took his wallet and his passport.
