Nominate an incredible woman for a YWCA Achievement Award | Community Spirit

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Time is running out to nominate an incredible woman for the upcoming YWCA Women of Achievement Awards.

The awards honor women and youth who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, as well as excellence, accomplishments and commitment in their careers, schools and communities.

There are several categories outstanding women can be nominated for:

• Arts
• Business
• Communications
• Education
• Environmental
• Health and wellness
• Public service
• Volunteer
• Rachel Freeman Unsung Hero Award

Seniors in high school can be nominated in the Youth Leader Category, and the winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Women in Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties may be nominated, but the deadline is March 1, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. You can nominate online at www.ywca-lowercapefear.org or call 910-799-6820 for more information.

The Women of Achievement Awards will be held May 10, 2012 at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside.
