Principals selected to take part in state leadership program

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Five principals in New Hanover County have been selected to take part in the 2012-13 Distinguished Leadership in Practice Program.

The program is a year-long initiative to enhance application-based professional development.

Each of the chosen principals have reached the midway point of the program, completing three of six components.

Each area is directly aligned to the performance evaluation standards adopted by the State Board of Education for North Carolina’s school leaders.

The chosen principals are as follows:

  • Tim Dominowski, principal of Murrayville Elementary School
  •  Kristin Jackson, principal of Lake Forest Academy
  • Patrick McCarty, principal of Murray Middle School
  • Carole Piner, principal of Anderson Elementary School
  • Barbara Stock, principal of Blair Elementary School
