NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Children in New Hanover County learned the meaning of Thanksgiving in an unusual way Wednesday.
The YWCA hosted a Thanksgiving lunch on the Mayflower – the moving truck, that is.
Organizers say they have a diverse group of kids, and some of them might not be getting a Thanksgiving meal, so the Mayflower lunch ensured a way that everyone got to celebrate.
The children said that they also liked the idea of eating on the Mayflower.
