NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If you’re looking to go ahead and pay your real estate tax bill, now is the time to do so -- New Hanover County officials will begin mailing this year’s real estate tax bills out so that they arrive in residents’ mailboxes next week, according a news release from county officials.
Taxes are due Sept. 1 of this year, and can be paid without interest until Jan. 7, 2013, but the tax office is already accepting payments.
"Residents who have appealed their revaluation will not receive their tax bill until their appeal process with the Board of Equalization and Review is complete," said a county official in a statement.
After Jan. 7, taxes become delinquent, and repayment options won’t be nearly as flexible.
