WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – In honor of its 50th and 10th anniversaries, Cameron Art Museum will be hosting a Public Day Celebration Sunday, Sept. 23, and admission will be free.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. day, visitors can enjoy CAM's new exhibits, live music and hands-on activities.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. -  Civil War reenactors with 1st North Carolina Company E and Battery "B"                                   2nd Regiment Artillery, US Colored Troops
  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Clay Studio demonstrations
  • Noon – 3 p.m. - Family hands-on art activities
  • 1 p.m. - Celebrate with birthday cupcakes
  • 2:15 p.m. - Music by Possum Creek Bluegrass Band
  • 3 p.m. - Giant Vollis Simpson whirligig dedication

CAM will be celebrating 50 years in the community and 10 years at its current location.
