Celebrity golf tournament aims to raise money for NHRMC Heart Center | Arts & Culture

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)  - The 20th annual Coastal Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5 at the Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall, according to a New Hanover Regional Medical Center spokesperson

Proceeds from the event will help NHRMC to purchase an Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) machine, which assists people who go into cardiac arrest.

At the tournament’s kickoff party that Friday, celebrity guests will be present and a silent auction will be held.

Saturday, teams comprised of four people will team up with a celebrity golf player on the green.

Golfers interested are invited to sign up to play; however, for those not interested in the sport, participants can buy social packages if he or she wishes to attend Friday’s event only.

The event is organized by the NHRMC Foundation, a nonprofit group.
