WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington Police officers are investigating a reported shooting, according to a WPD spokesperson.
Around 1:30 Thursday morning, officers responded to New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a report that someone had been shot.
Officers then spoke with the 24-year-old male victim, and noticed that his hand was wounded, as well as the area above his eye.
The victim would not give police many details about what happened, but he told them that his injuries were from when someone shot into a vehicle that he was in in the 1300 block of Willard Street.
Several others were said to be in the car at the time that the incident occurred, and one witness reported that prior to the alleged shooting, the victim had been involved in an altercation at a bar earlier on Wednesday night.
Authorities are continuing to look into the situation.
